Having realised their current internal layout wasn't conducive to their everyday living, our Clients approached us to redesign downstairs with the aim of exploiting a connection to the wonderfully landscaped garden. 

The extension is a subtle addition, with a material palette to match the existing and glazing strategically placed to exploit sunlight, giving a bright open plan living/dining/kitchen space.

 

The previous 'lean-to' utility space acted as a barrier between the dining and the garden, it has now been relocated to one side, along with a downstairs WC. This allows the new living space to spill out into the garden.
